Hausmoney™: Why did I just receive a Fraud alert text message?
Updated over a year ago

There are several reasons why someone might receive a banking fraud alert: unusual large transactions, international purchases, multiple transactions in a short amount of time, out-of-pattern spending, unrecognized vendors, or suspicious activity based on typical user behavior.

You may run into a fraud alert if you go over the debit card's limits:

  • The 24-hour limit for spending is $2,500

  • There is a separate limit for ATM withdrawals of $500 every 24 hours.

Also, the current ATM limit is 5 daily transactions and 30 daily transactions for merchant transactions.

These alerts serve as proactive measures to protect accounts from potential fraud or unauthorized access, prompting users to verify transactions and secure their finances promptly.

IMPORTANT: Even though you had a transaction marked as fraud, both of your debit cards are still available for use. If you believe a fraudulent transaction was made, please be sure to suspend your card!!
